DNA Evolution opened its doors in 1996 as a clothing store that catered mostly to skateboarders and surfers. But we have since grown into a local business that does so much more. Throughout the years, we have supported events that promote positive and healthy lifestyle choices, like skateboarding and surfing contests, such as the Rooftop Jams and O'Hui Nalu Surf Competition. We are also big supporters of local art and culture and have been sponsors of the Guam Art eXhibit (GAX) since it was first established in 2009. GAX is an organization and movement that promotes and encourages unconventional and thought-provoking art. Other ways we show our support for the community is by sponsoring and donating to charitable organizations, such as Strides for the Cure. Strides is a non-profit organization that aims to raise awareness in the community about cancer, diabetes, obesity, and other kinds of heart diseases, and educate the people about the many different ways they can prevent these diseases.
We also try to integrate our local flavor into the apparel we sell by collaborating with the brands we carry in our stores to make unique, one-of-a-kind products that you can only find on Guam. We have a greeting here-- “Hafa Adai”-- that we say to make our guests and visitors feel welcome. You will hear this often as you enter different local businesses on Guam, especially at DNA EVO. As a small community, we aim to make our guests feel like they are a part of our home and we call this the Hafa Adai spirit.
